With boating season almost upon us, here is a handy little reminder showing the names of the parts of a boat. I publish this so that you can sound “nautical” to your friends when you are boating this summer.
For example, instead of saying, “Tie the rope to the little thingy there on the side.” you can say, “Attach it to the port cleat.” They will be so impressed.

By the way, if you are running around the water without your boaters licence, now is the time to apply for it. The study material is easy to understand, full of practical tips and information, the cost is low and the value is unmeasurable.
At least you will be fully licensed and avoid the fine when the boating coppers chase you down on the lake this summer. You don’t want to mess with them.
