The above is a photo of the sunrise over Lake Charlotte taken this morning, January 2nd 2015. It is a clear morning, with the lake frozen almost, but not quite, completely across. As of this writing the ice is two days old, having just formed the night before last.
One of the nice things about living year round at the cottage is enjoying the view of the lake each day in it’s many variations. High water, low water, rough waves, calm days, summer conditions and winter conditions.
It is hard to beat the winter when there is snow on the ice. The combination of sunlight and snow over the wide expanse of the lake is so bright, so white and clean looking. I think it is good therapy for the mind.
