Those of us with cottages often have shared driveways and roads leading from the government maintained highways to our cottages and camps. Usually the owners of the cottages who share those private roads are responsible for maintaining the roads, grading, adding gravel when needed, filling potholes etc.
So what would happen if someone had an accident on your cottage road? Perhaps a delivery truck slides off the road and into the ditch, damaging the truck, and hurting the driver. Who is responsible? Can the cottagers who share the road be sued?
