Celestron Binoculars

An interesting and fun way to spend the evening hours at the cottage is watching the stars, checking out the constellations, looking for the man on the moon and perhaps even spotting an unidentified flying object. What could be more fun than that?

A good telescope is always a great addition to your star gazing efforts, but not necessary. You might be surprised to discover that you can see a lot with a pair of powerful binoculars too.

There is a little less “set-up” required with binoculars, making them a little easier to use, especially if your stargazing is done on the fly, you see something and want to quickly check it out. Not only that, binoculars can be less expensive than a telescope while still providing a decent view of the night sky.

For example these Celestron 71020 SkyMaster 25-125×80 Zoom Binoculars which, as the name implies zoom from 25X to an incredible 125X for close up views.

The Celestron 71020 binocular has multi-coated BAK-4 prisms, and have 13mm of eye relief for comfortable viewing, a large aperture that is perfect for low light conditions and stargazing.

Tripod Ready Binoculars

Celestron 71020 binoculars come with a built-in tripod adapter rod which facilitates adding a tripod like this Celestron Heavy-Duty Altazimuth Tripod which will make for a much steadier view of the night sky. Because of the weight and magnification of these binoculars a tripod is almost essential for all but very short term viewing. A tripod will steady the image as well as allow you some relief for longer term night sky star gazing.

Affordable Binoculars

The cost of the Celestron 71020 binocular is very affordable, especially considering how much enjoyment you will get from owning them. Let’s face it, as nice as it is, you and I are probably not going to spend a lot of money on binoculars or a telescope that we will only use a few times per year. If it becomes a more serious hobby, well that is the time to invest in more expensive equipment.
