Good News For Polar Bears

We are often quick to report on the “gloom and doom” side of things, so when I found this report in the Globe and Mail today, I figured it was worthy of mention because it is a good news story.

It seems the scientists have been wrong (gasp!!! How is that possible???) when it comes to the state of the polar bears. Yup, recent reports that climate change is threatening the polar bear population might be a little off the mark. Seems the bear population in the North may actually be getting larger instead of smaller.

A recent aerial survey along the western shore of Hudson Bay counted 66% more bears than earlier scientists had estimated would be there.
