Frequent readers know that my wife is hinting she wants a pontoon boat….no…hinting is too soft a word…she is suggesting we get a pontoon boat which is still too soft but she reads the Cottage Chronicles so I have to be careful…if you know what I mean….
So I am tasked with 1) finding a pontoon boat we can afford and
2)paying for the pontoon boat that ‘we’ can afford and
3) buying the outboard motor to power it.
So imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a pontoon boat powered by a 15 hp outboard motor not unlike the 15 hp Evinrude outboard motor I have on my boat now.
This little pontoon boat apparently has room for five, or at least five lifejackets, which I took to mean people. It’s quite quick with the little economical 15 hp outboard motor.
That economy of a small outboard motor is a plus when it comes to the high gas prices we are all faced with these days. That little 15 horsepower Evinrude outboard fills up on Monday and drives until Sunday on about 5 gallons.
So that makes this little pontoon boat all the more attractive, I already have the outboard to power it.
Granted, this little pontoon boat doesn’t have a couch and seating for 20 people but I can’t recall the last time I was faced with getting 20 people in a boat anyway, nor do I intend to start.
In fact, 5 people in 5 lifejackets is a one or two more than I need anyway. The little boat looks stable enough for my purposes, and it looks like it would be comfortablve for a cruise on a nice day on the lake. I am not going to go out in the ocean on it, nor do I intend to be sleeping on a pontoon boat with a comfortable television eguipped cottage waiting for me on shore.
According to the video title, this is a Paddleking LoPro pontoon boat. I did a little digging and here is the Paddleking website they have a line of pontoon boats, paddle boats, floating wharves and swim rafts.
Paddleking Pontoon Boats have prices on their products, they don’t seem too over the top, although I have to be honest I haven’t done any comparison shopping. The idea that I can plane a pontoon boat with a 15 hp outboard was what caught my eye.
Here’s the video of a PaddleKing Pontoon Boat with a 15 horsepower outboard.
Isn’t that the cutest little pontoon boat you ever saw?
